Apple Salute

Sull'Apple Watch, durante l'allenamento, Broli legge frequenza cardiaca e calorie attive per mostrartele, e salva l'allenamento in Salute.

I tuoi diritti

In short: your workouts stay on your devices and in your iCloud, which we can't reach. Broli has no accounts, shows no ads and doesn't track you. The only thing that reaches us is anonymous usage statistics, described below.

Who is responsible

Broli is made by Raffaele Esposito, an independent developer in Italy, who is the data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For any question: support@broli.app.

The data you enter

Routines, exercises, workouts, weights and reps, and any profile details you choose to fill in (name, date of birth, weight, height, goal) are stored on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud on it, Broli also syncs them to your private iCloud (Apple's private CloudKit database), so you find them on your other devices with the same account: it's your own space, which we can't see or access, run by Apple under its privacy policy. Without iCloud they stay on the device only. Weight and height are used to estimate calories and BMI. We have no servers: we don't see or receive any of it. iPhone and Apple Watch exchange routines and workouts directly, through Apple's connection between the two devices.

Apple Health

On Apple Watch, during a workout, Broli reads heart rate and active calories to show them to you, and saves the workout to Health. On iPhone, when you log a workout manually and choose "Save to Health", Broli saves it to Health with the calories you entered; if you delete it in Broli, it disappears from Health too. In both cases it only does so with your permission, which you can withdraw anytime in Settings › Health. On iPhone Broli reads nothing from Health. Health data is never sent to us or to third parties, never used for advertising or profiling, and never sold.

Camera, Photos and notifications

Camera: only to scan the QR code of a shared routine. Images are neither saved nor sent.
Photos: only to add the image of your workout, when you choose to save it. Broli doesn't read your library.
Notifications: end of rest and backup reminders, created on your device. No notification server of ours. With iCloud, Apple tells your devices about a change with silent notifications: you don't see them and they don't contain your data.

Anonymous statistics

To know whether the app works and what to improve, we use TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Germany), an analytics service. It receives:

It doesn't receive names, emails, workouts, weights or Health data. The device identifier is turned into an anonymous code before it is sent and TelemetryDeck doesn't store IP addresses, so the data can't be traced back to you. No tracking across other companies' apps or websites. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Exercise catalog

At launch Broli downloads the updated exercise list from GitHub. It's an ordinary web request: GitHub sees the IP address as it would for any website (GitHub privacy statement). None of your data is sent.

Purchases

Broli Pro purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your name, email or payment details: the app only knows whether Pro is active.

Sharing and backups

A routine link or QR code contains only the routine (exercises, sets, rest times), not your history, and goes through no server. Backup and CSV files are created only when you ask and go wherever you choose (Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop…).

How long, and how to delete it

Your data stays on your device and in your iCloud until you delete it: Profile › Data › Delete all data removes it from the device, from your iCloud and from your other devices. Deleting the app removes it from the device; you can also remove it from your iCloud in Settings › your name › iCloud. Workouts saved to Health are managed in the Health app. Anonymous statistics are kept by TelemetryDeck under its own policy.

Your rights

The GDPR gives you the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object and port your data. Since your data lives on your devices and in your iCloud, not with us, you exercise them directly in the app (edit, export, delete); for anything else, write to us. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority; in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

Children

Broli is not directed to anyone under 14.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. Important changes are also mentioned in the app's release notes.
